This 50’ boxcar was built in the early 1950s for Northern Pacific and repainted in the special “Share in Freedom; US Savings Bonds” red, white and blue paint scheme in 1968. Burlington Northern was formed through the mergers of Great Northern and Northern Pacific in 1970, and then merged with ATSF in 1995 to form BNSF.
